Some of your personal information may be stored with, and managed by, a cloud service provider located in a different country to the Beacon Consulting office.

Security

We recognise that information security is an integral element of data privacy. We use up to date data storage and security to hold your personal information securely in electronic and physical form and to prevent unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Our information security policy is supported by a number of security standards, processes and procedures and we store information in access controlled premises or in electronic databases requiring logins and passwords. We require our third party data storage providers to comply with appropriate information security industry standards. All partners and staff and third party providers with access to confidential information are subject to confidentiality obligations.

The transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we take appropriate and proportionate steps to manage the risks posed, we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to our online services.

Your Rights

You have certain rights that you can exercise under certain circumstances in relation to the personal information that we hold, subject to the privacy laws of your jurisdiction. These rights may include:

  • requesting rectification or erasure of your personal information; or

In the limited circumstances where you may have provided your consent to the collection, processing and transfer of your personal information for a specific purpose, you have the right to withdraw your consent for that specific processing at any time.  Once we have received notification that you have withdrawn your consent, we will no longer process your information for the purpose or purposes you originally agreed to, unless we have another legitimate basis for doing so in law.

Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 OF 2000 (“PAIA”)

PAIA gives you the right to access information that is required to exercise or protect your rights. In terms of PAIA, before access to the information requested by persons is granted, specific requirements have to be met. PAIA also requires private bodies such as GSA to compile a manual designed to assist persons who want to exercise their right to access information. You or third parties may also request access to your personal information held by GSA.
